Travelling by car or motorcycle offers flexibility and the opportunity to explore the beautiful Central Lombok Regency at your own pace. Here’s a guide on how to reach the circuit by road:

From the Airport

1. Exit the airport and head south on the main road (Jl. Bypass Bandara Internasional Lombok).
2. Continue straight towards Kuta.
3. Follow the signs to Mandalika, turning left onto the road leading to the Mandalika Tourism Area.
4. There will be signs guiding you to the Mandalika International Street Circuit.

From Mataram

1. Take the main road east out of Mataram and then head south following the signs to Praya.
2. After reaching Praya, continue south on the main road towards Kuta.
3. Follow signs to the Mandalika area, turning towards the circuit once you see directional signage.

Road Conditions

Paved Roads: The main roads leading to the Mandalika circuit are generally well-paved and maintained, especially since Mandalika is a prominent tourism project area.
Traffic: Traffic can be moderate to heavy, especially during major events like the MotoGP race. Be prepared for delays and possible congestion near the circuit entrance.
Local Driving Habits: Indonesian driving can be different from what you may be used to, with motorcycles often weaving through traffic. Drive cautiously and be aware of sudden stops or turns by other drivers.

Car Rentals

Renting a Car: You can rent a car from Lombok International Airport or major towns like Mataram or Kuta. Ensure the rental agency is reputable, and check the vehicle's condition before setting out.
With or Without Driver: You can rent a car for self-driving or hire a car with a driver. Having a driver familiar with local roads can be beneficial, especially if you're not accustomed to Indonesian driving conditions.
